Today, a colleague and I ran an internal design session to brainstorm and get internal feedback on ideas for new features in Seeq. Even though our internal team isn’t the end user, their perspective is really important. I’d never say your research should only focus on internal input, but it’s definitely a valuable data point to keep in mind.
Personally, I like to gather feedback from everywhere — internal stakeholders, product managers, devs, analytics engineers, CSMs, marketing, and of course, our users, both champions and everyday users. It can be a challenge to pull insights from so many groups, but it’s worth it. It gives us a broader perspective, helps build buy-in both inside and outside the team, and makes everyone feel like they’re part of the process. Most of all, it helps us build a better product.
Collaboration is key!
